The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), Embassy of India, Bangkok, organised a yoga workshop as the sixteenth precursor event in the run-up to International Day of Yoga 2026, held at Crescent International School, Bangkok, on 4 June 2026.

Across two energetic sessions, around 200 students of the school took part with great enthusiasm, practising various asanas and immersing themselves in a calming journey through yoga. From mindful breathing to guided postures, the young participants experienced first-hand how yoga brings together movement, focus and relaxation.
Bringing yoga to young learners
Introducing students to yoga at an early age helps nurture healthy habits, concentration and emotional balance that can last a lifetime. The lively response at Crescent International School reflects how readily young people connect with the practice when it’s made fun, accessible and welcoming.
One of many steps towards IDY 2026
As the sixteenth precursor event, this workshop is part of an ongoing series of community sessions building momentum ahead of the 12th International Day of Yoga on 21 June. This year’s global theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” celebrates yoga as a path to lifelong physical and mental well-being — a message that resonates with practitioners of every age, from students to seniors.
