Taking yoga to the northeastern part of Thailand, the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), Embassy of India, Bangkok, in collaboration with Sisaket Rajabhat University, organised a Yoga Workshop at the university in Sisaket province on 2 June 2026.

The session drew enthusiastic participation from both teachers and students, who came together for a mindful journey of holistic well-being. From breath-led movement to moments of stillness, participants experienced first-hand how yoga supports physical health, mental clarity and inner balance.
Spreading yoga beyond Bangkok
Bringing the practice to Sisaket reflects a wider effort to share the benefits of yoga with communities across Thailand, well beyond the capital. By partnering with regional institutions like Sisaket Rajabhat University, the SVCC continues to make yoga accessible to new audiences — students, educators and local residents alike.
Building towards International Day of Yoga 2026
The workshop forms part of the lead-up to the 12th International Day of Yoga, observed worldwide on 21 June. This year’s global theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” highlights yoga’s role in supporting lifelong physical and mental well-being for people of all ages.
Community sessions like the one in Sisaket help build awareness and enthusiasm ahead of the main celebrations, encouraging more people to embrace yoga as part of everyday life.
